My People Are Destroyed For Lack of Knowledge

Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. (Hosea 4:1) Then he goes on to say, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)
This scripture certainly applies to the United States of America. It gives an accurate description of what we are lacking—truth, love, and knowledge of God. The major difficulties we face—our economic crisis, our tax-happy government, and the war on terror—areĀ just symptoms of the real problem, which is a lack of knowledge of God. We don’t know him and we don’t know the Bible.
The Bible was America’s textbook until it was banned from our public schools. Now, the majority of Americans know nothing about it. The Bible is the greatest treasure we have. It is the source of essential truths everyone needs to know, to save them from destruction, such as these:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
These are some examples of the Bible verses you will find in The Bible Believer’s Handbook. It contain more than 1100 direct quotations from the King James Version of the Bible. They are some of the most useful and informative verses in the Bible.
